1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Analytics data
We use Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymous data about how the App is used. This data does not identify you personally and is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. The analytics data we collect includes:
- Device identifier — an opaque, randomly generated UUID assigned by Mixpanel per app installation (not your Apple device ID, IDFA, or any government identifier). This identifier is used solely to count distinct users and sessions.
- Device and system information — device model, iOS version, app version, screen size, timezone, and cellular carrier.
- Feature usage — which features you use (e.g., search, comparison view, photo deletion, sharing, album actions, settings changes), how you navigate the App, and which help screens or review prompts you see.
- Session data — app launch and session end times, session duration, and cumulative launch count.
- Purchase tier — the subscription type (monthly, yearly, or one-time) involved in a purchase initiation or completion. No payment details are transmitted.
- Diagnostic data — app version, iOS version, device model, and error events (such as iCloud download failures) used to monitor app health and compatibility.
The following information is not collected: your name, email address, phone number, photos, photo content, precise GPS location, contacts, IDFA, or any other personally identifiable information.
Approximate city-level location may be inferred server-side by Mixpanel from your IP address. Your IP address is not stored by us, and this inference is performed entirely by Mixpanel on their servers — not collected from your device.
Note on photo library access
The App requests access to your device’s Photo Library in order to function. Photos are processed entirely on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party. You choose whether to grant the App access to all photos, a selection of photos, or no access at all. You may change the App’s access to your Photo Library at any time in your device’s Settings.
Note on photo sharing
The App allows you to share photos using your device’s built-in sharing functionality. Shared photos are sent directly from your device to the destination you choose. Photos are never routed through our servers.
Note on in-app purchases
The App allows you to make in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to any payment or billing information.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
We process the analytics data we collect solely for the following purposes:
- To improve the App — understanding which features are used most helps us prioritize improvements and fix problems.
- To monitor technical health — diagnostic data (such as error events and iOS version distribution) helps us identify and fix bugs and ensure compatibility with new devices and OS versions.
- To understand usage trends — aggregate, anonymous usage statistics help us understand how the App is being used so we can make better product decisions.
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than the ones listed above.
3. HOW DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Your anonymous analytics data may be processed by the following third-party service provider:
- Mixpanel — We use Mixpanel to collect and analyze anonymous usage analytics. Mixpanel acts as a data processor on our behalf, meaning they process analytics data only as directed by us and for no other purpose. You can review Mixpanel’s Privacy Policy for information on how Mixpanel handles data on their platform.
We may need to share information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of our operations by another entity. We do not share your information with any other third parties.
4. ANALYTICS AND OPT-OUT
The App uses Mixpanel for anonymous usage analytics, as described in What information do we collect?.
Opting out: You can disable all analytics data collection at any time by going to the App’s Settings screen and turning off the “Share usage statistics” toggle. When analytics is disabled, no data is sent to Mixpanel. Your opt-out preference is stored locally on your device.
When analytics is enabled, Mixpanel assigns a random per-installation identifier (distinct_id) to your App install. This identifier has no connection to your Apple ID, IDFA, or any personal account. You can reset this identifier by deleting and reinstalling the App, or by opting out of analytics entirely.
The App does not use advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or any third-party tracking beyond Mixpanel analytics.
5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
Analytics data collected via Mixpanel is retained for up to 5 years on Mixpanel’s platform, after which it is automatically deleted. You may request earlier deletion of data associated with your installation’s Mixpanel identifier at any time by contacting us (see How can you contact us about this policy?).
All other App data (such as your photo sessions and preferences) is stored locally on your device and managed by your device’s operating system. We do not have access to this data.
6. HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?
We take reasonable measures to protect the analytics data we collect, including:
- Transmitting analytics data to Mixpanel over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
- Collecting only anonymous, non-personally-identifiable analytics data.
- Using Mixpanel’s security infrastructure, which is subject to their own security practices and certifications.
However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any data in transit.
7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include:

If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority.
If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do so by disabling analytics in the App’s Settings. Please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing before its withdrawal.

If you are located in the EU or UK
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on to process your personal information. We may rely on the following:
- Legitimate interests — We have a legitimate interest in understanding how our App is used in order to improve it and monitor its technical health. We use only anonymous, non-personally-identifiable analytics data for this purpose, and we believe this interest is proportionate and does not override your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligations — We may process information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations.
